Elder Kip Matkins

After growing up and operating the family farm and ranch near Sturgis, I retired in 2006, at which time my wife, Linda, and I moved to Rapid City. We have one daughter and one son.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering and a Master’s in Agricultural Economics.
Community service consists of 18 years on a local Cenex Cooperative board and four years with the Conservation District board. I served a number of years on the local Crop Improvement Association board and 12 years on the State CIA board.
I was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, serving at times as deacon and elder. My wife and I were called to more orthodox preaching and teaching, which we found at Grace Reformed Church in Rapid City in 2009. I became an elder in 2015.
